Who we are

Morning Chorus Records is a trading name of Goudie Works Ltd, company number 11656551, registered in England and Wales. We are responsible for the personal data described here.

For anything about your data, email sam@goudieworks.co.

No tracking, no cookie banner

This site doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and sets no cookies of its own. The only thing it stores on your device is your cart, described below. That is essential to a service you've asked for, so the law doesn't require us to ask your consent first.

Your cart

When you add something to your cart, the items and quantities are saved in your browser's local storage, so the cart is still there if you move between pages or come back later. It is kept only on your device. We never receive it, and it contains nothing that identifies you.

It is cleared when you go to checkout, or when you remove the items. You can also clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Checkout and orders

When you check out, your cart is handed to the Goudie Works Store, and checkout, payment and delivery happen there. The store is run by Goudie Works Ltd, the company behind Morning Chorus Records, and sells its other work too. It runs on Shopify, which processes your order details on our behalf. How that information is used is set out in the store's privacy policy, alongside its refund, shipping and terms of service policies.

Download codes

When you redeem a download code, we record the time, the release, the format you chose, and the country your connection comes from. We don't record your IP address or anything else that identifies you. The record is kept in a Google Sheet, through Google Apps Script, so we can see how releases are doing. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding our sales.

The files themselves are delivered from Cloudflare R2 storage through a link that expires after a few minutes. Like any host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to send you the file.

Videos

Some release pages include a video. It doesn't load until you press play, so YouTube receives nothing from simply viewing the page. Once you press play, the video loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and Google's privacy policy applies to what YouTube does from then on.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the technical details of each request, including your IP address, to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop or restrict using it. You can also object to how we use it. Get in touch using the details above.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
